Tempotech Controls Inc Isopressed or carbon-bonded silicon carbide protection tubes (SCI) have lower porosity (8%) compared to nitride-bonded tubes, yet are less dense than oxide-bonded options. With a maximum service temperature of 2800°F (1550°C), they excel in high-temperature environments. The composition consists of 78.2% silicon carbide (black, coarse-grained Alpha/Beta mix), 18.7% silica, 2.1% sodium oxide, 1.43% aluminum oxide, and 0.44% iron oxide.
